
Course Joining Instructions

Please read the all the information and remember to submit your pre course attendance form, this can be found below.​

Location
Please meet at the time and location stated on your booking confirmation email.
Your confirmation email may not state an exact location, this will be because the location is subject to water levels.
If this is the case you will be contacted separately to confirm the location of your course.

Paddle UK Training Courses
BCAB training courses do not require membership or to pre-register with British Canoeing.
We do however recommend becoming a member prior to attending your course especially if you are intending to sit a Coaching or Leadership award in the future.
Paddle UK Assessment Courses
Assessment courses require Home Nation Membership and pre-assessment registration.
If you are booked onto an assessment course, please ensure you have successfully passed registration before attending.

Equipment
Please ensure you bring all the equipment required to complete your course, if you need to borrow any equipment please get in touch as soon as possible.
Courses held on white water will require the following
-
White water spec PFD (quick release harness for safety and rescue courses)

Neoprene spraydeck and airbags for kayaking courses
-
Bow and stern buoyancy for canoeing courses
-
Throw bag (on a quick release belt for raft guide courses)

Good base layers
-
Consider a drysuit for courses taking place during winter months or safety and rescue courses and raft guide courses.
Equipment is provided for Personal Performance Award course for e.g, Discover, Explore, White Water Award.
Pease ensure you bring a packed lunch and a drink as some locations can be remote where access to shops are limited.
