EWWS WINTER RIVER RUNNING CAMP – LAKES, YORKSHIRE & NORTH WALES

We had been thinking about this camp for a while and we are very excited it is finally happening! If you live in the UK you don’t need to travel overseas to experience amazing whitewater. This camp aims to help you discover some of the most classic and iconic whitewater in the UK.

Because of the temperamental nature of the rain fed rivers of the UK, our plan will need to remain flexible until we know which area will be offering the best whitewater during the week of the Camp. However, our plan is to base ourselves around Kendal, which is in a central location to hit both the Lakes and Yorkshire area and still within a reasonable distance from Wales in case we need to rally!

– Bu-bu-but… what rivers are we going to paddle? Well, if you must know the rivers we will be keeping on our radar are:

Lake District: Leven, Kent, Clough, Rawthey, Lune
Yorkshire: Swale, Upper Tees
North Wales: Conwy, Llugwy, Lledr, Wnion, Dee, Tryweryn

Of course we will adapt the level of the camp to the group we have and we cannot guarantee each of these runs will have the suitable level to paddle them. The idea, however, is that if levels are right we would try and hit to more exotic rain-fed stuff whilst leaving the low water and release sections for you to run on another occasion.​​
